Our History
By any gauge the Life Center Cathedral in the City of New Orleans is “one of America’s most exciting churches.” This growing, bustling family of faith was born out of a vision given to J. Douglas as Lisa Wiley many years ago. Through the support of Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., and the Greater Saint Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church the vision became a reality on November 26, 1993. From its inception the Life Center Cathedral experienced explosive growth. With dynamic worship services and its outreach the church became an immediate positive influence on the West Bank and metropolitan New Orleans. Boldly proclaiming Life Center is “all about people” Life Center is the vision of what a church can be when committed disciples of Jesus Christ worship and work, pray and plan, love and lift, inspire and empower, help and heal. All that has taken place heretofore is but the prelude to what will happen at…“one of America’s most exciting churches.”
